by Rachel Hernandez, Fun Run Coordinator
Pledge sheets for the Fox Trot Fun Run should have come home in your kids’ Thursday folders yesterday. Again, this the CSN’s second largest fundraiser of the year. It is a lot of fun for the kids, and the school benefits tremendously from the money this event generates.
This year, we will be giving students “Book Bucks” (credit at the Scholastic Book Fair) as incentive prizes. There will also be prizes for the student showing the most school spirit during the Run and a prize for the most creative running attire. In addition, the top five individual earners will receive a private diabolo lesson! The PE department will get $500 and the top fundraising classrooms will get $100 each. There will also be a $300 prize for the school (use to be determined by the Student Council), if we meet our fundraising goal. The rest of the proceeds go directly to the school to support our facility and educational needs.
This year the CSN has added an online donation option. Cash and/or check donations are still the preferred payment method, as the software company does take a cut of our donations, but this is a great opportunity for us to solicit donations from out-of-town relatives, and folks who specifically ask to pay with a credit card or ask if there is way to donate online. The website is set up to only accept fixed amount donations at this time.
