The Golden Backpack Program

gbpFHM is partnering with the Golden Backpack Program (GBP) to help feed Golden students in need. Currently, over 1,300 students in Golden are enrolled in their school’s free and reduced lunch program. For many of these students, these lunches serve as their main source of nourishment throughout the week.  Weekends are often a painful time with little or no nourishment available. GBP provides a sack full of enough food to feed a child for an entire weekend. This program currently assists approximately 600 students in Golden, including FHM students.
GBP could not exist without volunteers. There are several weekly volunteer opportunities. Food bagging is especially rewarding with the whole family! Volunteering with GBP counts towards FHM volunteer hours.

Volunteer Opportunities
These volunteer opportunities are managed by The Golden Backpack Program and not FHM or CSN.  Sign up here at GBP’s volunteer website.
